Coromandel town lights up

Coromandel town was transformed in July for Illume- a Winter Festival of Light. Moehau Environment Group got into the spirit.

The good folks of Coromandel worked tirelessly to create this new winter festival, done with typical Coromandel flair. The town was lit up with projections on the side of the town’s biggest buildings, and special effect lighting up the main street of shop fronts and historic trees.

Moehau Environment Group joined clusters of excited people filling the pavements to witness the ‘big switch on’. One of our Committee Members, Wayne Todd created a beautiful installation for the Coromandel Butchers window to celebrate creatures great and small. And Koro the Kiwi our friendly mascot was out making friends during the float parade.
